3. Binding terms and conditions for participants
In signing the participant´s contract or booking an Event service via invoice or on the websites (in short: registration)
the participant of the Event and/or Meet&Greet (a person/company that bought a booth, a keynote slot, webinar slot, or any other active involvement in the Swiss Fintech Fair 2020) expressly agrees to be bound by this agreement (the "Agreement") . If you are completing the registration on behalf of another individual or company, you warrant that you have made the attendee or participating company aware of this Agreement and that he or she or it has accepted its terms and conditions.
4. Terms of participation
Invitations to exhibit or participate in the Event are sent/directed to companies whose services and/or sales offerings are appropriate to Swiss Fintech Fair, a Swiss fintech trade fair. Invitations are sent to the e-mail address entered by the participant during the booking process. The correctness of the e-mail address is the sole responsibility of the participant.
Participants are all exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers.
5. Participation requirements
5 a) Event Platform:
The Swiss Fintech Fair uses a digital event platform based on brella.io. By attending/registering for the Event you grant Swiss Finance Startups the permission to save your data and agree that your data will be shared with brella.io and published in the Swiss Fintech Fair brella.io platform (website and app). All attendees and other participants will be able to see your name and company in the platform and app. You will receive an invitation e-mail with the option to complete your data or to unregister from the platform or app. There is no refund in case of deregistration. The participant has no right to a new invitation in case of deregistration.
5 b) Screenshots / Photos / Videos:
By attending the Event and/or Meet&Greet you grant Swiss Finance Startups the right to make screenshots, to record, film, photograph, or capture your likeness, your presence and your company's presence in any media and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from or any payment to you.
5 c) Other:
All other costs associated with your attendance of the Event or Meet&Greet (e.g., wifi access, tech devices, travel and accommodation expenses) shall be borne solely by you, and Swiss Finance Startups shall have no liability for such costs.
Swiss Finance Startups, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Event, including but not limited to the Event name, themes, format, analogue/digital presence, content, program, speakers, moderators, venue and time.
It is solely your responsibility to comply with any government visa requirements and failure to do so does not constitute a basis for a refund.
Swiss Finance Startups reserves the right to deny access to the platform and/or admission to the meet&greet anyone for any reason.
Applicable fees indicated on the website are due upon registration. If payment is insufficient or declined for any reason, Swiss Finance Startups may refuse to admit you and shall have no resulting liability.
Fees may be subject to sales tax, value-added tax, or other taxes and duties, which, if applicable, will be charged to you in addition to the fees.
Once you have registered, your fees will not be adjusted downward based on any sponsorship, discount or any other reason.
If you register using a special rate that is not applicable to you, you hereby give Swiss Finance Startups the right to charge your credit card for the difference upon notice that Swiss Finance Startups does not agree with your selection of a special rate, or your purchase will be declined with a cancellation fee of 250 CHF. All determinations of special rates are in the sole discretion of Swiss Finance Startups. Even if you meet the definition and requirements of a special rate, Swiss Finance Startups reserves the right to not provide you any special rate at its discretion.
7. Swiss Fintech Fair (online shop) pricing categories
There are three price categories available at the Swiss Fintech Fair and displayed on the above-mentioned websites.
STANDARD PRICE: The official pricing category that is applicable in general. The sale will take place as long as there is availability.
MEMBER PRICE: This rate applies to paying members of Swiss Finance Startups only. When booking the member price, the customers have to provide proof of payment of the membership fee for the year 2020. If active members don't opt for the member price, there will be no refund.
If you register using a special rate that is not applicable to you, you hereby give Swiss Finance Startups the right to charge your credit card for the difference upon notice that Swiss Finance Startups does not agree with your selection of a special rate, or your purchase will be declined with a cancellation fee of 250 CHF.
PAYMENT: Payment can be done via credit card directly online. Or you can request an invoice from contact(at)swissfinancestartups.ch via e-mail. Booking is confirmed after receipt of payment.
ALL PRODUCTS in the shop: All products and services are strictly non-refundable, regardless of the selected pricing category.
8. Limited discount options
Swiss Finance Startups has the right to limit the availability of discounted member options. Discounted member options are offered on a "first-come, first-serve" base. Once the discounted option is sold out, members of Swiss Finance Startups can opt for the standard option.

9. Attendees/invitation codes
9 a) Business profiles
Invitation codes give access to the digital event platform via brella.io. All persons will attend the Event via digital business profiles. These business profiles can be customized (e.g. picture upload, CV, etc.). Every attendee has the choice to opt-in for match-making and to make themselves available for meetings. In this case the person can be contacted by other attendees via the digital event platform/app.
9 b) Premium invitations
Premium invitations grant access to the Event on September 7th and 8th, 2020. Profiles activated via premium invitation will stay active at least until MAR 15th, 2021. After the Event, the platform can be accessed and used as scanning and scouting platform until this date.
9c) Basic invitations
Basic invitations grant access to the Event on September 7th and 8th, 2020. Profiles activated via basic invitation will be automatically deactivated after the Event.
10. Cancellation, Substitution and Lost Code Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable. Swiss Finance Startups does not refund fees.
There will be no carryover of registrations or fees to subsequent events.
Once you have received your invitation code, it cannot be changed, substituted or reissued to a different person.
11. Terms and Slot allocation for speakers (Keynote, Webinar, etc.)
Speaking slots are allocated by the organiser. Requests for specific slots will be taken into consideration as far as possible. The organiser retains the right to adjust the agenda and slot times at any time without prior coordination with the speakers.
Swiss Finance Startups has the right to cancel a booking if the stated criteria on the website are not met by the participant.
12. Pre-produced videos
Selected speakings will be broadcasted via pre-produced videos. The speaker is responsible to hand in a high-quality video file that meets the requirements given by the organiser before the deadline set by the organiser. Videos that do not meet the requirements or are handed in after the given deadline will be rejected and deleted from the Event agenda.
13. Live streams
Webinar slots are broadcasted as live sessions via digital conferencing tool operated on the Event platform or given by the organiser. The speaker is responsible to ensure a solid internet connection during the live sessions. Furthermore, the speaker guarantees to be tool-savvy by the time of the streaming.
14. Digital Booths
14. a) There are two categories of digital booths: basic & premium. The booth category is allocated according to the booking, respective booth features are listed in the product description in the webshop of this website.
14. b) Booth content
All exhibitors receive an exhibitor briefing: The exhibitor is responsible to provide the organiser with booth content that meets the requirements stated in the exhibitor briefing. The exhibitor is solely responsible for content, accuracy and suitability of the provided booth content, this includes among other things:
- Correct spelling
- High-resolution picture and video quality
- And more
The organiser will set up the booth with the provided content. After set-up, the exhibitor will be informed and given a time slot for the request of changes. After the given time slot no changes can be implemented. The organiser has the right to reject content that has been found inappropriate.
14. c) Booth staff
The attendee profiles of all persons registered from an exhibitor's company will be automatically linked to the digital booth of the exhibitor. It is the attendee's responsibility to enter the exhibitor's company name correctly to ensure automatic linking to the booth.
15. Meet & Greet - live event
The Meet&Greet on September 08th, 2020 at SIX ConventionPoint Zurich is a free live-add-on to the digital fair on September 7th, 2020.
The execution of the Meet&Greet cannot be guaranteed and is subject to the current epidemiological situation.
15 a) Attendee Admission
Admission to the Meet&Greet is free. Entrance is reserved to attendees included in the guest list.
Admission is subject to current health regulations. The organiser will track the number of attendees and may deny access according to current health regulations.
15 b) Exhibitors
All digital premium booth exhibitors can register for a free-of-charge Meet&Greet booth - on a first-come, first-serve base.
Meet & Greet Booth
Booth positions are allocated by the organiser. Health requirements and distance regulations will be applied. The booth will all be set up by Swiss Finance Startups to ensure the greatest possible coordination. There is a fixed setup for booths with no space for storage or additional furniture. Only 1 roll-up banner per exhibitor allowed. Any give-aways, merchandise or marketing material needs to fit on or under the 80cm-diameter-high table. There is no additional storage.
No floor space outside of the actual stand position may be used for advertising or any other purpose (such as shelves holding brochures). It is strictly prohibited, in particular, to distribute marketing material/merchandise/give-aways anywhere other than on the space of the exhibitor’s own stand unless written authorisation has been obtained from the organiser. The organiser retains the right to exclude or impose a fine on any participants who infringe the rules of fair competition.
Set-up and dismantling times
The organiser publishes schedules for setting up and dismantling stands and these must be adhered to in the interest of all exhibitors. It is not permitted to start dismantling stands prior to the formal end of the fair. Fines will be imposed on any exhibitor who builds up early without permission, who dismantles stands early, who abandon their stands or leave them prematurely as well as to exhibitors who dismantle their stands too late.
15. c) Insurance
It is a mandatory requirement for exhibitors to have insurance cover against fire, explosion and natural disasters for all exhibition items as well as liability insurance. By booking a booth, the participant/exhibitor confirms that they are fully covered according to the stated mandatory requirement without any additional check needed/provided by the organiser.
15. d) Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability
Swiss Finance Startups provides no warranties in respect of any aspect of the Event or any materials related thereto or offered at the Event and, to the fullest extent possible under the laws governing this Agreement, disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness, and merchantability. The Event is provided on an "as-is" basis. Swiss Finance Startups does not accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the Event or any information provided at the Event.
Except as required by law, Swiss Finance Startups shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages or losses arising directly or indirectly from the Event or other aspect related thereto or in connection with this Agreement.
The maximum aggregate liability of Swiss Finance Startups for any claim in any way connected with, or arising from, the Event or this Agreement, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise (including any negligent act or omission), shall be limited to the amount paid by you to Swiss Finance Startups under this Agreement.
The organiser accepts no duty to take care of exhibited materials and stand installations and declines all liability whatsoever. It is the participant’s duty to ensure that any device on display is suitable protected with equipment satisfying the accident-protection regulations. The participant will be held liable for any damage caused by exhibition materials, including in particular, during set-up and dismantling.
15 e). Regulations of SIX ConventionPoint (location)
In accordance with the regulations laid down by the municipal fire department, it is not permitted at any exhibition to use decorative material that may constitute a fire hazard. In no circumstance, it is permitted for stairs and doors to be blocked and the corridors for the general public must be wide enough to cope with the expected number of visitors.
Extreme care must be exercised in setting up the fair. It is strictly prohibited to fasten exhibition objects or advertising materials to any of the ceilings or walls using nails, pins, drawing pins, needles or adhesives. Fixed seats, mirrors, lights may not be moved.
15 f). Excerpt from the municipal noise ordinance
Article 1: For the purpose of the ordinance, noise is defined as acoustic effects which impair the health, performance or wellbeing of people.
Article 3 c.: It is prohibited to carry out any form of work that causes noise between 12 noon and 2 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Article 25/1: Anyone who violates the provisions of this ordinance, who removes noise protection measures or impairs their performance, will be punished in accordance with article 37 of Zurich’s general municipal police regulations (Allgemeine Polizeiverordnung der Stadt Zürich).
15 g). Compilation of the fire protection guidelines for fairs and events
General information: From decorations no additional fire hazard may result. In the case of fire persons may not be endangered and escape routes not be impaired.
Material: Decorations in areas with public traffic must be of heavy inflammable material. Fire index 5.1/Classification SN EN 13501-1: (A2-s2, d0 – A2-s3, d0 – B-s2, d0 – B-s3, d0 – C-s2, d0 – C-s3, d0).
In case of fire materials may neither drip off burning nor develop poisonous gases. No inflammable decorations may be attached in escape routes. Play and advertisement balloons may be filled only with not inflammable gas or gas mixture.
Addition to material: Decorations from massif wood (e.g. boards) are also permitted, where difficult inflammable material with fire index 5.1 is required.
16. Withdrawal from the participant’s contract
Any participant withdrawing from the participation following registration remains liable for 100% of the stated offering price. In any case a handling fee of minimum 500 CHF plus VAT for changing a booking is applicable.
18. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in and to the Event, the Event content, and all materials distributed at or in connection with the Event are owned by Swiss Finance Startups or the Event sponsors or speakers at the Event. You may not use or reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any trademarks (including without limitation "Swiss Finance Startups") or other trade names appearing at the Event, in any Event content or in any materials distributed at or in connection with the Event for any reason without the prior written permission of Swiss Finance Startups.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to vest in you any legal or beneficial right in or to any trademarks or other intellectual property rights owned or used under license by Swiss Finance Startups; nor does this Agreement grant to you any right or license to any other intellectual property rights of Swiss Finance Startups, all of which shall at all times remain the exclusive property of Swiss Finance Startups.
19. Force Majeure
The organiser retains the right to reschedule, shorten, lengthen or cancel the Swiss Fintech Fair should there be compelling reasons for doing so or in the event of force majeure. In such cases, the participant has no right to withdraw, nor any claim for compensation. Insofar as unforeseen political or economic events, difficulties within the industry or force majeure render it impossible to stage the Swiss Fintech Fair, the organiser undertakes to refund any payments already made by participants, deducting any costs already incurred. The participant has no right to claim any compensation whatsoever if Swiss Fintech Fair is not held on justified grounds. All verbal agreements, authorisations and special arrangements must be confirmed in writing, failing which they will not be recognised.
Swiss Finance Startups´s failure to exercise any right shall not be deemed a waiver of any further rights. Swiss Finance Startups shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from any cause beyond Swiss Finance Startups’s reasonable control. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary for this Agreement to otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. This Agreement is not assignable, transferable or sub-licensable by you except with Swiss Finance Startup´s prior written consent.
Both parties agree that this Agreement is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties and supersedes and cancels all previous written and oral agreements, communications and other understandings relating to the subject matter of this Agreement and that all modifications must be in a writing signed by both parties, except as otherwise provided herein.
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment is created as a result of this Agreement and you acknowledge that you do not have any authority of any kind to bind Swiss Finance Startups in any respect whatsoever.
21. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law. The parties elect the organiser’s domicile as the place of jurisdiction.
