2. The Event (in short: Event)

Swiss Fintech Fair

Duration of fair/opening hours: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm


3. Binding terms and conditions for participants

In signing the participant´s contract or booking an online Event service offering on the websites (in short: registration)






the participant (a person/company that bought a booth, a showroom, a speaking/workshop/pitching slot, a F&B package, any other active involvement in the Swiss Fintech Fair 2019) expressly agrees to be bound by this agreement (the "Agreement") . If you are completing the registration on behalf of another individual or company, you warrant that you have made the attendee or participating company aware of this Agreement and that he or she or it has accepted its terms and conditions.


4. Terms of participation

Invitations to exhibit or participate are sent/are directed to companies whose services and/or sales offerings are appropriate to Swiss Fintech Fair, a Swiss Fintech Trade Fair.


5. Participation requirements

5 a) Event App:

The Swiss Fintech Fair uses an event app based on Swapcard. By attending/registering for the event you grant Swiss Finance Startups the permission to save your data and agree that your data will be shared with Swapcard and published in the Swiss Fintech Fair Swapcard app. All attendees, exhibitors and speakers will be able to see your name and company in the app. You will receive an invitation e-mail with the option to complete your data or to unregister from the app.

5 b) Photographs & videos:

By attending the Event you grant Swiss Finance Startups and their partner Zurich Tourism the right at the Event to record, film, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from or any payment to you.

5 c) Other

Your registration entitles you only to admittance to the Event. All other costs associated with your attendance (e.g., travel and accommodation expenses) shall be borne solely by you, and Swiss Finance Startups shall have no liability for such costs.

Swiss Finance Startups, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Event, including but not limited to, the Event name, themes, content, program, speakers, moderators, venue and time.

Attendee badges or wristbands must be worn at all times in Event areas.

It is solely your responsibility to comply with any government visa requirements and failure to do so does not constitute a basis for a refund.


Swiss Finance Startups reserves the right to deny admission to anyone for any reason.

6. Fees
Applicable fees are due upon registration. If payment is insufficient or declined for any reason, Swiss Finance Startups may refuse to admit you and shall have no resulting liability.

Fees may be subject sales tax, value added tax, or other taxes and duties, which, if applicable, will be charged to you in addition to the fees.

Once you have registered, your fees will not be adjusted downward based on any sponsorship, discount or any other reason.

If you register using a special rate that is not applicable to you, you hereby give Swiss Finance Startups the right to charge your card for the difference upon notice that Swiss Finance Startups does not agree with your selection of a special rate, or your purchase will be declined with a cancellation fee of 250 CHF. All determinations of special rates are in the sole discretion of Swiss Finance Startups. Even if you meet the definition and requirements of a special rate, Swiss Finance Startups reserves the right to not provide you any special rate at its discretion.


7. Swiss Fintech Fair (online shop) pricing categories

There are two price categories available at the Swiss Fintech Fair and displayed on the above mentioned websites.


STANDARD PRICE: The official pricing category that is applicable in general. The sale will take place as long as there is availability.


MEMBER PRICE: The only exception to the standard pricing is made for active (= with valid membership number) members of Swiss Finance Startups. Only active members of Swiss Finance Startups are authorized to make a purchase selecting the member price category. If you register using a special rate that is not applicable to you, you hereby give Swiss Finance Startups the right to charge your card for the difference upon notice that Swiss Finance Startups does not agree with your selection of a special rate, or your purchase will be declined with a cancellation fee of 250 CHF.If members don't opt for the member discount, Swiss Finance Startups will not be able to refund the purchase.

PAYMENT: Payment can be done via credit card directly online. Or you can request an invoice from contact(at)swissfinancestartups.ch via e-mail. Booking is confirmed after receipt of payment.

ALL PRODUCTS in the shop: All products and services are strictly non-refundable, regardless of the selected pricing category.


8. Limited discount options

Swiss Finance Startups has the right to limit the availability of discounted member options. Discounted member options are offered on a "first come, first serve" base. Once the discounted option is sold out, members of Swiss Finance Startups can opt for the standard option.

9. Ticket codes

With specific service offerings and their booking, a limited number of ticket codes may be included as stated in the respective product descriptions.

Swiss Finance Startups states explicitly that ticket codes are no tickets.

Ticket codes must be redeemed on the Website’s ticket shop within 5 days after receipt.

Unredeemed ticket codes will be voided automatically as soon as tickets are sold out.


10. Cancellation, Substitution and Lost Badge Policy
Registration Fees are non-refundable. Swiss Finance Startups does not refund fees.

There will be no carry over of registrations or fees to subsequent events.

Paid registrations that later join as speakers are not entitled to a refund of attendee fees paid.

Once you have received your badge/wristband on site, it cannot be changed, substituted or reissued to a different person.

Registered ticket holders cannot convert their passes to complimentary sponsor passes.

11. Terms and Space allocation for exhibitors (Booths or/and show rooms)

Exhibitors’ positions are allocated by the organiser. Requests for specific positions will be taken into consideration as far as possible. Any exhibitor who wishes a subsequent reduction in stand space remains fully liable for paying for the whole space allocated to them if unused space cannot be re-let.

Swiss Finance Startups has the right to cancel a booking if the stated criteria on the website are not met by the participant.


12. Terms and Slot allocation for speakers (Pitch slot, Speaking slot, Workshop slot)

Speaking slots are allocated by the organiser. Requests for specific slots will be taken into consideration as far as possible. The organiser retains the right to adjust the agenda and slot times at any time without prior coordination with the speakers.

Swiss Finance Startups has the right to cancel a booking if the stated criteria on the website are not met by the participant.


13. Terms for F&B sponsors (Gipfeli, Coffee, Water, Apéro, Lunch sponsor)

Our location, the Kraftwerk, has specific catering rules.

It is the sponsors responsibility to order, prepare, deliver, present and pay the F&B offering (additionally to the F&B licence fee by Swiss Finance Startups) at the Swiss Fintech Fair in accordance to the Kraftwerk house and contractual catering rules. Please contact us and/or the Kraftwerk catering crew before your booking.


14. Terms for Satellite partner

All Satellite events must take place before the official start of the Swiss Fintech Fair or subsequently after the official closing.

Only events that adhere to these time guideline will be considered for listing.

If timings of the satellite event change after booking which would make the event non-compliant with the stated Fair time guidelines, Swiss Finance Startups has the right to refuse the listing. There is no refund to the external event organiser and the Satellite event holder remains liable for 100% of the stated offering price.

Swiss Finance Startups has the right to cancel a booking if the stated criteria on the website are not met by the participant.


15. Withdrawal from the participant’s contract

Any participant withdrawing from the participation following registration remains liable for 100% of the stated offering price.

There is a no show fee for Standard Booth bookings by Members of Swiss Finance Startups of 500 CHF additional to the stated offering price.

If exhibition spaces and stands have not been occupied by the organisers given deadline on the opening day, the organiser may dispose for these at his own discretion. The exhibitor thereby loses any claim to such stand space and/or stand. The exhibitor remains fully liable for the totality of the rental for the stand space, the incidental costs and the services booked, as well as for all other costs that arise in connection with the non-occupation of the stand space or stand.


16. Stand construction

The standard and standout booth will all be set up by Swiss Finance Startups to ensure the greatest possible coordination.

There is a fixed setup for all standard and standout booth with no space for storage or additional furniture.

The show rooms are equipped with basic furniture such as tables and chairs, please contact us for more information.

Additional furniture for the show rooms is available for rent from our logistics partner.

Please contact us latest 16th June for more information.

All showrooms can be fully equipped with your own furniture. In this case it is the sponsors responsibility to clear the show room and to reinstall the Kraftwerk furniture after the official closing.

The show rooms and all booths must be fully cleared at the provided deadline.

Every participant is fully liable for all damage caused to provided furniture and location.


17. Stand services / catering

It is very much in tune with the concept of the event for there to be presentations and particular attractions on the stands, but these may not cause any disturbance whatsoever to neighbouring stands. The organiser’s ruling in this respect shall be final. Personnel must be present on all stands during all the opening hours. Exhibitors are responsible for keeping their stands clean. Cold Refreshments etc. may be offered to stand visitors.

No floor space outside of the actual stand position may be used for advertising or any other purpose (such as shelves holding brochures). It is strictly prohibited, in particular, to distribute advertising material anywhere other than on the space of the exhibitor’s own stand unless written authorisation has been obtained from the organiser. The organiser retains the right to exclude or impose a fine on any participants who infringe the rules of fair competition.


18. Set-up and dismantling times

The organiser publishes schedules for setting up and dismantling stands and these must be adhered to in the interest of

all exhibitors. It is not permitted to start dismantling stands prior to the formal end of the fair. Fines will be imposed on any exhibitor who builds up early without permission, who dismantles stands early, who abandon their stands or leave them prematurely as well as to exhibitors who dismantle their stands too late.


19. Insurance

It is a mandatory requirement for exhibitors to have insurance cover against fire, explosion and natural disasters for all exhibition items as well as liability insurance. By booking a booth or show room, the participant/exhibitor confirms that they are fully covered according to the stated mandatory requirement without any additional check needed/provided by the organiser.


20. Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability
Swiss Finance Startups gives no warranties in respect of any aspect of the Event or any materials related thereto or offered at the Event and, to the fullest extent possible under the laws governing this Agreement, disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness, and merchantability. The Event is provided on an "as-is" basis. Swiss Finance Startups does not accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the Event or any information provided at the Event.

Except as required by law, Swiss Finance Startups shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages or losses arising directly or indirectly from the Event or other aspect related thereto or in connection with this Agreement.

The maximum aggregate liability of Swiss Finance Startups for any claim in any way connected with, or arising from, the Event or this Agreement, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise (including any negligent act or omission), shall be limited to the amount paid by you to Swiss Finance Startups under this Agreement.


The organiser accepts no duty to take care of exhibited materials and stand installations and declines all liability whatsoever. It is the participant’s duty to ensure that any device on display is suitable protected with equipment satisfying the accident-protection regulations. The participant will be held liable for any damage caused by exhibition materials, including in particular, during set-up and dismantling.


21. Regulations of Kraftwerk

In accordance with the regulations laid down by the municipal fire department, it is not permitted at any exhibition to use decorative material that may constitute a fire hazard. In no circumstances it is permitted for stairs and doors to be blocked and the corridors for the general public must be wide enough to cope with the expected number of visitors.

Extreme care must be exercised in setting up the fair. It is strictly prohibited to fasten exhibition objects or advertising materials to any of the ceilings or walls using nails, pins, drawing pins, needles or adhesives. All exhibition structures in the show rooms must be designed to be self-supporting and must be set up on an underlay to protect the floor. The load on the floor may not exceed 500 kg/m2 at any point. Fixed seats, mirrors, lights may not be moved.


22. Excerpt from the municipal noise ordinance

Article 1: For the purpose of the ordinance, noise is defined as acoustic effects which impair the health, performance or wellbeing of people.

Article 3 c.: It is prohibited to carry out any form of work that causes noise between 12 noon and 2 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Article 25/1: Anyone who violates the provisions of this ordinance, who removes noise protection measures or impairs their performance, will be punished in accordance with article 37 of Zurich’s general municipal police regulations (Allgemeine Polizeiverordnung der Stadt Zürich).


23. Compilation of the fire protection guidelines for fairs and events

General information: From decorations no additional fire hazard may result. In the case of fire persons may not be endangered and escape routes not be impaired.

Material: Decorations in areas with public traffic must be of heavy inflammable material. Fire index 5.1/Classification SN EN 13501-1: (A2-s2, d0 – A2-s3, d0 – B-s2, d0 – B-s3, d0 – C-s2, d0 – C-s3, d0).

In case of fire materials may neither drip off burning nor develop poisonous gases. No inflammable decorations may be attached in escape routes. Play and advertisement balloons may be filled only with not inflammable gas or gas mixture.

Addition to material: Decorations from massif wood (e.g. boards) are also permitted, where difficult inflammable material with fire index 5.1 is required.


24. Privacy Policy
Swiss Finance Startups is committed to protecting the privacy of its attendees and participants. Its Privacy Policy is available at https://www.swissfintechfair.com/privacy


25. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in and to the Event, the Event content, and all materials distributed at or in connection with the Event are owned by Swiss Finance Startups or the Event sponsors or speakers at the Event. You may not use or reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any trademarks (including without limitation "Swiss Finance Startups") or other trade names appearing at the Event, in any Event content or in any materials distributed at or in connection with the Event for any reason without the prior written permission of Swiss Finance Startups.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to vest in you any legal or beneficial right in or to any trademarks or other intellectual property rights owned or used under license by Swiss Finance Startups; nor does this Agreement grant to you any right or license to any other intellectual property rights of Swiss Finance Startups, all of which shall at all times remain the exclusive property of Swiss Finance Startups.


26. Miscellaneous

Swiss Finance Startups´s failure to exercise any right shall not be deemed a waiver of any further rights. Swiss Finance Startups shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from any cause beyond Swiss Finance Startups’s reasonable control. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary for this Agreement to otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. This Agreement is not assignable, transferable or sub-licensable by you except with Swiss Finance Startup´s prior written consent.

Both parties agree that this Agreement is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties and supersedes and cancels all previous written and oral agreements, communications and other understandings relating to the subject matter of this Agreement, and that all modifications must be in a writing signed by both parties, except as otherwise provided herein.

No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment is created as a result of this Agreement and you acknowledge that you do not have any authority of any kind to bind Swiss Finance Startups in any respect whatsoever.


27. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

All legal relations between the participant and the organiser are governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law. The parties elect the organiser’s domicile as the place of jurisdiction. The organiser retains the right to reschedule, shorten, lengthen or cancel the Swiss Fintech Fair should there be compelling reasons for doing so or in the event of force majeure. In such cases, the participant has no right to withdraw, nor any claim for compensation. Insofar as unforeseen political or economic events, difficulties within the industry or force majeure render it impossible to stage the Swiss Fintech Fair, the organiser undertakes to refund any payments already made by participants, deducting any costs already incurred. The participant has no right to claim any compensation whatsoever if Swiss Fintech Fair is not held on justified grounds. All verbal agreements, authorisations and special arrangements must be confirmed in writing, failing which they will not be recognised.
