Swiss Fintech Day 2018 – More than 500 visitors at Switzerland’s first Fintech Fair

On October 16 Swiss Finance Startups has opened Switzerland’s first ever Fintech Fair in Zurich. The event was a great success and even exceeding our  expectations by far!

Swiss fintech was waiting to get their own trade fair

For quite some time the industry has left what we would call an early stage. Fintech is an important supporting pillar of Switzerlands financial center.  We are confident to make the claim that today there is no finance without fintech. So, we knew it was about time to bring a fintech trade fair  to life in Switzerland. We were aware of the demand but we still haven’t expected it to be this high. The available exhibition space was fully booked within a few hours. But thanks to our main sponsor UBS Switzerland we were allowed to use some additional space. So in the end we could grant 46 exhibitors the opportunity to exhibit their business at the fair.

Partnering country Singapore

In cooperation with the Singapore Fintech Association we’ve announced Singapore partnering country of the Fintech Fair. Singapore was sending their own delegation of startups and fintech drivers. We are very happy and honored that they made the trip around the world to attend the first fintech fair in our country.

Christina Kehl, managing director and board member comments: “We counted more than 500 visitors today and have used the available contingent to the max. We are very proud of our amazing member startups, very grateful for the support of our sponsors and partners and super happy  about the great interest in #fintech #theSwissway. We’ve received so much positive feedback on the parts of everyone involved, from visitors, exhibitors and speakers. This shows that the concept of a trade fair is exactly what we needed. We will keep our work up and if possible bring back the fair next year.”

This was already the 3rd edition of our Swiss Fintech Day and the event has grown and gained importance with every year.
